The story tolk about a butler that the nervous the eye white of his master. And slowly he goes crazy, he see the eye of his master everywhere. Edgar Allan Poe invented the first macabre stories, and the first PHS was the Black Cat in 1843. Also he invented the detective and science fiction.

THE GOTHIC NOVEL, (G.N). The first horror.

The Gotic Novel was invated by Horace Walpole. Her first G.N whose The Castle of Otranto in 1764.
The basic elements that I dion't inclued in my list are setting in a castle; an atmosphere of mystery and suspense; omens ( auguri ), portents ( presagis ), visions; high, even overwrought emotion; women in distress, women threatened by a powerful, impulstive, tyranical male.
